From a small outpost of a village the city has changed with the times. Agriculture has included Tobacco, Hemp, Cattle, and of course Horses. Industry leaders like IBM and GE have called Lexington Home. Today you can tour the Toyota Motor Manufacturing plant in nearby Georgetown, KY. The largest Toyota Plant in the world. Home to the University of Kentucky and Transylvania University the first college west of the Allegheny Mountains. The Mary Todd Lincoln House and the John Hunt Morgan House display the division of our country during the Civil War. A visit to Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill will take you back to a simple time and a social experiment that was almost sure to vanish.
